Final Results (pdf)

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team shot a 4-under 284 in the third and final round of the 2019 Kiawah Classic Spring Classic, enough to come from four shots back and claim a co-championship with North Florida.

The Chants went into the final round trailing UNF and made a late push over the second nine holes to earn the tie. UNF shot a 4-over 288 which allowed both teams to finish the event with a three-day total of 865 (1-over).

Freshman Jenjira Jinangkul led the comeback with her 2-under 70 in today's round. She had the best tournament of her short career with a 1-under 215 (73-72-70) over the three-day event. She finished tied for 10th.

Both Frantiska Lunackova and Tiffany Arafi shot 1-under 71's in today's round, giving the Chants three players with sub-par rounds. Lunackova shot a 35-36 in picking up her score and finished the event tied for 13th with an even par 216.

Arafi's sub-par round came with a 36 on the front nine followed by a 35 on the back. She finished the Classic tied for 17th with a 1-over 217 (72-74-71).

Marie Lunackova continued her steady play tying teammate Arafi with a 1-over 217 (70-75-72). She shot an even-par round in today's action with 36 on both the front and back nine.

Another Chanticleer who had a strong day and tournament was Stephanie Henning. She finished out her round with an even-par 72, also shooting a 36 on both nines, meaning all five Chants finished the day even-par or better. Henning finished the event tied for 55th with an 8-over 224 (75-77-72).

The co-championship for the Chants means they have finished first the last three times they have played in the event. They won the classic outright in 2016 and 2017. Last season they did not play the event, but got back in it this year to earn another first-place honor.

Today's round of 284 tied the program's eighth-best low round score, while the three-day 865 total was the eighth best low round in program history.

Rounding out the top-five were Tulsa (+8, 872), Delaware (+10, 874) and South Florida (+11, 875).

The Chanticleers will be back in action March 4-5. CCU will travel west to California to play at the Gunrock Invitational hosted by California-Davis. The Invite will be played at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento.
