Dalla-Bona Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Coastal Carolina's Somer Dalla-Bona has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played April 1-7, the league announced Wednesday.
Dalla-Bona finished 4-0 in singles and doubles as the Chanticleers picked up a pair of wins over Georgia State and Georgia Southern. Dalla-Bona won her No. 3 singles matches by identical scores of 6-1, 6-3 over Georgia State's Damira Muminovic and Georgia Southern's Paula Boixader. She paired with graduate student Jennifer Brown to earn matching 6-3 victories at No. 1 doubles.
With last week's wins Dalla-Bona remained unbeaten in Sun Belt singles play with a perfect 8-0 record. She leads all Chants in singles wins this season with 12, and is 8-5 overall in doubles.
Dalla-Bona and the Chants close out the regular season this weekend hosting Texas State (April 12) and UT Arlington (April 14) at the Stevens Tennis Complex. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
