Jacksonville, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team suffered its first back-to-back loss on the 2019 season as it fell to Jacksonville 15-11 at D.B. Milne Field on the Dolphins campus. The loss dropped the Chants record to 7-4 and 2-2 in the conference while JU improved to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the ASUN conference.
Coastal's offense was led by senior

Samantha Courtemanche each tallying the hat-trick. CCU's all-time goal scorer senior
Haley Alexander scored twice more to give her 32 on the season, while
Lyla Robinson,
Jordan Harrell and
Megan Busch each found the back of the net once.

Harley Barrett kept the Chanticleers in the game making huge save after huge save for 15 saves total. Junior midfielder
Hannah Krin helped out on the defensive end by forcing three turnovers and ground balls.
Jacksonville opened the game with the first four goals when McKenna Rushford drove down the middle for the first goal of the game with 24:58 in the opening stanza. At the 19:51 mark, Jenny Kinsey picked up the Dolphins first free-position goal on four attempts. Rushford tallied her second goal of the game with 15:12 remaining in the first half followed by Molly Brock with almost two minutes expiring to make it 4-0.
After a little more than 20 minutes of action, Bromley put the Chants on the scoreboard on a free-position goal to trail 4-1. Courtemanche tallied the next two goals for CCU, the first on a free-position goal with 5:23 remaining until the intermission and with 4:36 left on the game clock when Busch found the junior attacker in front of the host goalkeeper. Harrell found Alexander wide open on a give-and-go to even the match up at 4-4 with 3:18 until halftime.
JU closed out the opening stanza with three goals in the final 1:19 with two free-position goals, one by Megan Prescott (1:19) and Kinsey (57 seconds) before Alexis Deaken closed the first half scoring with 16 seconds remaining to put Jacksonville up three, 7-4.
With 31 seconds expiring off the clock in the second period, Lillie Miller scored her 17th goal of the season to make it 8-4 for the hosts. Deaken scored her second goal of the game with 27:43 remaining to make it 9-4.
Courtemanche made it 9-5 with her final goal of the day with 26:32 on the game clock to pull Coastal within four.
Miller found the back of the net for her second goal of the day to push the lead back up to five with 24:55 left to play.
Robinson (21:18) scored her sixth goal of the season off the assist from Harrell to make it 10-6 with Bromley following 30 seconds later to make it a three-goal game at 10-7.
Lauren Phillips pushed the lead back to four with the unassisted goal to make it 11-7 with 19:36 on the game clock.
Alexander scored her second woman-up goal of the day with 13:36 remaining to make it 11-8. Busch picked up her 12th tally of the season on a drive from the wing to make it 11-9.
Erin McGuire by virtue of a free-position goal made it 12-9 with ten minutes remaining followed by Phillips (5:55) off of the Miller assist increasing the Dolphins lead to 13-9.
Bromley (4:22) and Harrell (1:25) traded goals with JU (1:50 and 0:18) for the final margin of 15-11.
Coastal Carolina will remain on the road as it will travel to Deland, Fla. for a match against ASUN opponent Stetson. The opening draw is scheduled for Noon on Sunday, April 7.
