Bill Carson Invite Results Day 2
GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina track and field team wrapped up their final day at the Bill Carson Invitational as the Chanticleer women finished the weekend in fourth place with 52 points and the men placed sixth with 57 points.
Women
In the 400 hurdles,
Hesmari Coetzee placed first with ten team points and had a time of 1:01.06. This is the junior's second best time of the season as she finished in second place at the Winthrop Open with a time of 1:00.96. Also in the 400 hurdles,
Kelsey Briggs picked up five team points finishing fifth with a time of 1:08.98.
Junior
Alyssa LeClaire picked up eight team points with a second place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.30. Freshman
Rebecca Lehman also added a team point as she finished the 800 in a time of 2:27.79.
Mya Ray finished fifth in the 400 meters with four team points with a personal best time of 1:00.57.
In the 1500 meters,
Heather Delaplaine added one team point with an eighth-place finish and a time of 4:55.23.
Lexi Carpenter competed in the 5000 meters with a sixth place finish, earning three team points with a time of 19:45.42.
Senior
Anacia Hines finished in eight place in the 100-meter hurdles, adding one team point with a time of 14.86 (1.2)
In the field events, Briggs earned the best finish for the women, third, with a jump of 5.67 meters in the long jump adding six team points.
In the high jump, sophomore Joya Black earned a fourth place finish, with five team points in her best height of the day in round five of 1.65 meters.
Freshman
Kelsia Moore earned a fifth place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 10.86 meters. This distance was reached in round two, earning four team points.
In round one of the shot put,Â
Airika McCaskill finished the event with her best distance of 10.32 meters in round one. The freshman picked up a fifth place finish and four team points.
Men
Matthew Evans earned the best Chanticleer finish on the track in the 1500 meters as he finished in a personal best time of 4:08.39. The freshman ended the race in third with six team points.
In the 200 meters,
Ty Floyd finished with a personal best time of 22.36 (1.1), good for a top ten finish and two team points.
Sophomore
Cameron Butler finished the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.86. The mid-distance runner finished in sixth and three team points.
Also on the track,
Andrew Avery (5000 meters) came in seventh-place and three team points with a time of 15:41.20.
In the field,
Richie Sadler finished the triple jump in second place with ten team points as he had his best jump of the day in the sixth round with a distance of 14.60 meters.
Sophomore
Christian Johnson earned four team points for the men in the long jump. The sophomore finished in sixth with a distance of 6.72 meters.
In the pole vault, junior
Connor Langdon finished with three points with an eighth-place finish at 4.25 meters.
Lastly for the men, three Chanticleers earned team points. Freshman
Ryan Wheaton earned a sixth place finish and five team points with a throw of 14.36 meters. Moore placed seventh with four team points just one one-hundreth behind his teammate Wheaton in seventh place. Also earning a team point was
Stephen Kirkwood, as the freshman finished tenth with a distance on his personal best throw of 13:36 meters.
