CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team earned the No. 3 seed for the ASUN Lacrosse Championship being held in Conway, S.C. on May 2 and 4.
The first game of the tournament will feature No. 1 Jacksonville taking on No. 4 Kennesaw State, with the opening draw scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. The second semifinals match will follow with Coastal seeking revenge for the earlier season loss against No. 2 Liberty with a scheduled 4 p.m. ET opening draw.
The Chanticleers finished with a 4-2 record in conference action and a 12-5 record overall. The final regular season game for CCU was a 15-13 loss to Elon of the Colonial Athletic Association on Sunday, April 28.
Madeline Bromley led the offensive attack finding the back of the net four times.
With a 6-0 conference record, the Jacksonville Dolphins won a share of the regular season title for the seventh consecutive year. The Dolphins closed out their regular season, on Sunday, April 28, with a 22-3 win over conference foe Stetson.
By virtue of its road win over CCU on March 31, Liberty finished the season with a 5-1 record in ASUN action to earn the No. 2 seed. The Flames wrapped up their season, Friday, April 26, with a 22-0 home win over the Bison of Howard University.
The No. 4 seed Owls, who finished with a conference record of 3-3, needed a 25-3 road win over Howard to earn the final spot in the ASUN Championship on Sunday, April 28.
Parking for the championship match on Saturday, May 4, on campus next to Brooks Stadium will be limited due to Coastal Carolina baseball and softball also playing home contests. All fans attending the championship match are encouraged to park in the YY lot east of campus off route 544. Shuttles transporting fans to Brooks Stadium will be available.
