CONWAY –
Tsiki Ntsabeleng had missed each of the first four Coastal Carolina men's soccer games this season due to injuries suffered before the 2019 season got underway.
He made his return on Tuesday night and it turned out to be in a very big way. The senior preseason Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year found himself in the middle of a scrum in front of the net and knocked in the lone goal of the game with only: 02 left on the clock, handing the Chanticleers a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Campbell Camels.
Ntsabeleng played 21 minutes in the game and only took one shot, but he did make it count. The play started after a foul was called at midfield on a Campbell player with just: 08 left in the game. Coastal goalie
Alberto Ciroi came out and took the free kick, sending the ball in front of the Campbell net. The ball bounced off several people before it came loose and Ntsabeleng stuck it in the back of the net for the game-winner.
It was a solid defensive outing for both teams as Campbell attempted nine shots while CCU got off seven. Each team had several chances to score a goal, missing open shots from inside the box. Both teams also hit the post which is something you don't see very often.
In the end, the Chanticleers picked up a win over a strong Campbell team that entered the match with a 3-1-1 record. The Chants (3-2) broke their two-game losing streak and now look to host their second home game of the season on Saturday, Sept. 21 when Radford comes to Conway. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
