CONWAY, S.C. –
Coastal Carolina football will take on its first-ever Big 12 opponent on Saturday night, Sept. 7, when the Chanticleers take on the Kansas Jayhawks at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kan. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Relocated Chants
• Coastal was relocated this week due to the forecast of Hurricane Dorian hitting the South Carolina coast, specifically around the Myrtle Beach/Conway area.

• The Chanticleers drove to Greenville, S.C. on Monday and practiced in the upstate at a local high school and nearby universities (Clemson, Furman, and North Greenville) before flying to Kansas on Friday afternoon.

Déjà Vu
• Due to Hurricane Florence last year, the Chanticleers were forced to evacuate campus and their homes on Sept. 11, 2018.

• After spending 12 days on the road in North Carolina, Florida and Louisiana from Sept. 11 to Sept. 22, the Chants returned to Myrtle Beach, S.C. in the morning hours of Sept. 23.

• However, with campus still closed due to flooding in the Conway, S.C. area, the team spent another week in hotels in Myrtle Beach and away from its home field, locker room, weight room and classrooms for a full three weeks.

Biscardi Earns Sun Belt POTW Honor
• Coastal Carolina sophomore place-kicker Massimo Biscardi was tabbed the Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced on Sept. 2 for the opening weekend of play.

• The award is the first conference weekly honor for Biscardi and the first for a Chants' player since 2017.

• Biscardi picked up where he left off last season by making three field goals and scoring 11 points in the season opener versus Eastern Michigan. He scored a point for the 13th straight game, every game he has played at CCU dating back to last season, and make three field goals in the same game for the third time in his 13-game career.

• His 53-yard field goal in the second quarter was a career-long and tied the Coastal school record for the longest made field goal in program history. He totaled 11 points, second-most in his career for a single game and also recorded five kickoffs, including one touchback.

Scouting the KU Jayhawks
• Kansas opened up the Les Miles era with a 24-17 season-opening win over Indiana State last weekend at home in Memorial Stadium.

• With their season-opening win, the Jayhawks have now won three of their last four season openers.

• Kansas is 5-1 all-time versus teams out of the Sun Belt Conference.

• The Jayhawks totaled 344 yards of offense led by 121 receiving yards on eight catches from junior wideout Andrew Parchment.

• The KU defense got a team-high nine total tackles by Dru Prox, including a 12-yard sack in the fourth quarter, and a 57-yard interception return for a touchdown from defensive back Hasan Defense.

Series Versus Kansas
• Coastal and Kansas have never played each other in football.
