CONWAY, S.C. – Nine Coastal Carolina football student-athletes earned preseason All-Sun Belt Conference recognition from Phil Steele's College Football Preview, the publication announced recently.
Linebacker Se'Von McDowell led the Chanticleers with second-team honors, while cornerback Ja'Marion Wayne and punter Emile Sebafundi were named to the third team.
Coastal Carolina's fourth-team selections included wide receiver Robby Washington, offensive guard Cristian Loaiza, offensive tackle Daughtry Richardson, linebacker Ibrahim Diawara, safety Jalen Lee and long snapper Mitch Weisenborn.
The nine selections highlight a veteran group that will help lead the Chanticleers into the 2026 season under head coach Ryan Beard. Phil Steele's annual preseason all-conference teams are featured in the publication's 2026 College Football Preview magazine.
Coastal Carolina opens the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, at West Virginia before returning to Brooks Stadium to host Fordham on Saturday, Sept. 12.
