Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina baseball team hosted its annual free baseball kids clinic for over 150 6-to-12-year-olds on Monday, Jan. 20, at The Ripken Experience Complex in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The three-hour camp, made possible with help from the Mike Pruitt Foundation for the Advancement of Youth Baseball in Horry County, and the donation of the facilities by The Ripken Experience Complex, focused on hitting, base-running, fielding, and throwing fundamentals with the Chanticleer baseball players handling the instruction for the youngsters in attendance.
The Coastal baseball program will raise money for the Mike Pruitt Foundation and the Grand Strand Miracle Leagues on Feb. 6 at the 13th annual "Step Up to the Plate" dinner and silent auction event at the Chesapeake House. Anyone interested in attending the "Step Up to the Plate" Dinner should contact Coastal Carolina's director of baseball operations
Chad Oxendine at coxendi1@coastal.edu. Please RSVP by Jan. 30.
