PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team officially started the 2020-21 season with today's first round of the Callaway Gardens Invitational.
Three Chanticleers played in the event comprising three individual scores and all three had solid opening rounds in finishing among the top 25 finishers.
Sophia Carlsen and
Frantiska Lunackova led the way as both student-athletes shot a two-over 73. Carlsen picked up her score with a 37 on the first nine holes and followed that with a 36. Lunackova shot a 38-35 as both players finished the day tied for 12th.
Heidrun Hlynsdottier is only one shot behind after shooting a three-over 74. She picked up her final score with a 38-36. She ended the day tied for 19th.
The final scores indicate how close the round was as a total of 25 players are within six shots of the lead.
