MOBILE, Ala. – The Coastal Carolina cross country teams wrapped up their 2020 fall seasons at the 2020 Sun Belt Cross Country Championships on Halloween in Mobile, Ala.
The women's team finished seventh overall in the 5K conference championship event with 197 points, as six of the seven Chanticleer runners made their Sun Belt Conference Championship meet debuts.
Sophomore
Ashley Rulison led the way for the Chants, as she placed 27th overall with a time of 18:55.6, while a trio of freshmen Chant runners in
Molly Jones (19:05.8),
Marissa Kilgarriff (19:13.6), and
Sydney Swanker (19:18.8) finished 33rd, 34th, and 35th overall, respectively.
Junior
Rebecca Lehman (22:06.6) and freshman
Arionne Riddick (22:22.3) finished back-to-back in 68th and 69th, while senior
Mya Ray crossed the finish line at 72nd overall with her time of 23:33.4.
Sophomore
Monroe Thompkins paced the CCU men on Saturday, as he finished in 41st-place overall with his time of 27:32.2 in the 8K race.
First-year Chant
Brad Wiggins turned in a time of 27:58.7 to finish 46th overall, while
Myles Carrico placed 58th with his time of 29:51.2 in his CCU debut.
Arkansas State (44), Appalachian State (47), and South Alabama (71) went 1-2-3 in the women's team scores.
On the men's side, South Alabama (39), Appalachian State (55), and Arkansas State (56) finished first, second, and third overall on the team leaderboard.
