Men’s Golf Signs Trey Crenshaw

Coastal Carolina men’s golf adds local high school standout
CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina men's golf head coach Jim Garren has announced the signing of local high school standout Trey Crenshaw (Lancaster, S.C. / Lancaster HS) to a National Letter of Intent to continue both his academic and athletic career at Coastal Carolina.
"We are really excited to have Trey join our program. Any time you can sign your state's junior champion it's a big deal and says a lot about the program," stated Garren. "Trey is a hard worker and he comes from a great family. He's been committed to us for a long time so it's nice to finally make it official. He is a really high-character guy and he's played a lot of really good golf. He is a huge asset to CCU athletics."
Crenshaw was the 2020 South Carolina Golf Association Junior Champion after posting back-to-back third-place finishes in 2018 and 2019. A 2020 Southern Carolina Junior Match Play Champion, he has also been a member of three South Carolina teams for the South Carolina versus Georgia team matches.
A three-time South Carolina Region 3-4A medalist (2016, 2018, and 2019) that also finished second at the 2019 4A Upper State, Crenshaw was a key part of the 2018 South Carolina Class 4A State Championship team at Lancaster High School.
Heading into his senior season at Lancaster HS, Crenshaw has recorded seven top-six finishes out of 13 events in 2020 and has totaled 12 wins over his junior career.
A member of the Junior Civitan, Crenshaw has maintained a 4.75 grade-point average or higher throughout his high school career and is in the top six percent of his graduating class.
