PANAMA CITY, Fla. – On a day in which the weather played havoc with the Bay Point Golf Club, Coastal Carolina University's women's golf team stands sixth after the first two rounds of the Florida State Seminole Match Up.
The Chants struggled through the first round with a +30 318, but rebounded to shoot 16 strokes better in the second round to finish with a 302 giving CCU a 620 after the first two rounds.
The Chants went into the day short-handed as sophomore
Tiffany Arafi, who has the lowest average score this season, missed the first two rounds due to sickness.
Caitlin Evans-Brand did have a solid outing finishing her day with a four-over 148 (73-75). She will move into tomorrow's final round in third place.
Frantiska Lunackova shot a 79 over the first round and finished the day with a 77 in the second round to card a 12-over 156. She is tied for 24
th.
Jenjira Jinangkul fought the wind with an 81 in the first round, but improved three strokes with a 78 in the afternoon round. Her 15-over 159 has her tied for 35
th.
Stephanie Henning was the final participant for CCU and shot a 21-over 165 (85-80) and is tied for 50
th.
LSU heads into the final round in first place after shooting a 592 (289-303) followed by host Florida State who is nine shots back with a 603 (307-296).
Rounding out the top five are Alabama (305-307-612), Clemson (304-310-614) and South Florida (310-308-618), who is only two strokes ahead of CCU.
Kansas State is nine strokes behind CCU with a 629 (312-317) followed by Memphis (321-311) and Missouri (320-312) who are tied after carding a 632. Toledo finished the day with a 675 (340-335).
