Men Picked Sixth, Women Seventh in Cross Country Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Chanticleers were picked to finish in the middle of the pack
NEW ORLEANS – The Coastal Carolina University men's and women's cross country teams were picked to finish sixth and seventh, respectively, in the annual Sun Belt Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced on Friday.
On the men's side, the 2019 Sun Belt Champions in Appalachian State was chosen to repeat, as the Mountaineers garnered eight first-place votes and a total of 97 points.
Behind App State and ahead of the Chanticleers in the preseason poll was Arkansas State (90 points), UTA (80 points), Texas State (61 points), and South Alabama (61 points).
Coastal received 48 points to place ahead of Little Rock (42 points), Troy (34 points), Louisiana (21 points), and ULM (16 points).
On the women's side, the Chants came in at seventh, placing in a tie for seventh with Troy with 68 points.
Arkansas State, the 2019 Sun Belt Champions, was selected to repeat as the Red Wolves picked up nine first-place votes and 141 total points.
Following A-State in the women's poll was App State (125 points), South Alabama (123 points), Texas State (102 points), UTA (98 points), and Georgia State (72 points).
Behind Coastal and Troy were Little Rock (48 points), Georgia Southern (37 points), Louisiana (33 points), and ULM (17 points).
