STATESBORO, Ga. – Sophomore
Ashley Rulison recorded a top-10 finish at the GATA Classic on Friday evening to highlight the night for the Coastal Carolina University men's and women's cross country teams.
Rulison posted a seventh-place finish with a time of 22:13.9 in the 5K race, crossing the finish line just 4.6 seconds out of fifth-place.
Fellow Chant
Katie Herron crossed the finish line with a time of 24:35.2 in her Coastal Carolina debut.
On the men's side,
Monroe Thompkins and
Brad Wiggins ran the 8K race by themselves, as Georgia Southern does not a sponsor men's team and Central Georgia Tech did not make the meet as their bus broke down. Wiggins finished with a time of 28:52.01, just in front of Thompkins time of 29:36.88.
The Chanticleers will host the Chanticleer Challenge on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Hackler Golf Course in Conway, S.C.
