CONWAY, S.C. – Junior forward
Loranna Austin scored a goal in each half to lead Coastal Carolina to a 2-0 win over Troy in Sun Belt women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
It was Austin's first multi-goal game of her career.
The Chants took 11 shots with Austin's three leading the way. She scored an unassisted goal in the 18th minute of the first half as the Chants went into the locker room at halftime with the 1-0 lead.
Coastal had several chances to score throughout the contest, but Troy goalkeeper Lindsey LaRoche, who finished the match with four saves, made a couple of great stops to keep the Chants out of the net.
Austin scored her second and final goal in the 77th minute on an assist from freshman
Ella Schad.
Ky Hudson picked up the shutout in goal for the Chants with two saves in her 90 minutes of action.
CCU (2-1) will have a week off before hitting the pitch again when the Chants host Appalachian State Sunday, Oct. 4 at noon at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
