"We had a decent start today. I thought our ball-striking was great, especially with how the wind was blowing. We just need to make a few more putts and our chipping needs to be better," stated head coach
Jim Garren. "It was a great start for Zack (Taylor). States (Fort) also had a solid round today."
Behind
Zack Taylor's team-low round of 67, was fellow fifth-year Chant
States Fort with his first-round 70, 2-under par. In his first event as a Chant this year, Fort recorded three birdies, one bogey, and 14 pars to end day one in a tie for eighth-place overall.
Junior
Connor Newton shot a 72, even par, on Sunday, to place in a tie for 15th overall and was one shot in front of fellow Chants
