Chants Fight, Draw with Georgia State Friday Night

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team was held to just eight shots on Friday night, as the Chanticleers tallied a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Georgia State at the GSU Soccer Field. 
 
With the draw, CCU is now 3-5-2 overall and 1-2-1 in Sun Belt Play, while GSU is now 7-3-3 overall and 2-1-2 in conference play. 

Sarah Allen 
put the visitors up 1-0 in the 26th minute, as she recorded her third goal of the season after connecting on a pass from Megan Brouse. 
 
With just two minutes left in regulation, the Panthers' Maddie Johnston tied the contest at 1-all as she received a pass from fellow GSU teammate Ann Diaz. 
 
Neither team was able to find the go-ahead goal and Coastal was headed to its fifth overtime match of the season. 
 
Ky Hudson recorded six saves for the second time this season, including two saves in the first half to keep the Panthers off the scoreboard. 
 
GSU ended the day with a 21-8 shooting advantage and a 7-3 advantage in shots on frame.
Allen recorded a team-leading three shots, with one on goal. CCU found the advantage in saves at 6-2, while the hosts also found an advantage in corner kicks, 12-2. 
 
Coastal Carolina remains on the road and gets set to face South Alabama on Sunday, Oct.3. The kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET from Mobile, Ala.
