TROY, ALA. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team battled but fell to the Troy Trojans, 2-0, Sunday afternoon on the road.

With the loss, the Chanticleers drop to 5-7-2 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play, while the Trojans improve to 6-8-1 overall and 3-5-0 in the conference with the victory.

Troy looked to attack early, as Chloe Luliano's shot in the 10th minute was blocked. Coastal Carolina recorded back-to-back shots in the 24th minute but we were unable to convert. Neither team was able to convert and went into the break tied at 0-0.

Following halftime, the Trojans recorded their first goal of the contest in the 64th minute as Kate Eubanks found the back of the net through traffic, putting the hosts up 1-0. Five minutes later, Jordan Stack fired in a shot from nearly 30 yards out over the hands of Ky Hudson to add another goal for Troy.

For the fifth time this season, Hudson recorded six saves on the day.

Troy ended the afternoon with an 18-7 shooting advantage and an 8-1 advantage in shots on frame. Sarah Allen finished the day with a game-high two shots for the Chants, with one shot on goal. CCU found the advantage in saves at 6-0. The Trojans also tallied a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Coastal Carolina returns to the CCU Soccer Stadium for the final two matches of the regular season as the Chants welcome Little Rock to Conway on Friday, Oct. 22, before hosting Arkansas State on Sunday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday and Noon ET on Sunday.
