MOBILE, ALA. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team battled but fell to the South Alabama Jaguars 4-0 Sunday afternoon on the road.
 
With the loss, Coastal Carolina drops to 3-6-2 overall and 1-3-1 in Sun Belt play while South Alabama improves to 8-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference play. 
 
The Jaguars looked to strike early, as Ky Hudson recorded back-to-back saves in the 6th and 10th minutes to keep USA off the board. Sydney Ham tallied the hosts' first goal of the day as she found her way around multiple Chanticleer defenders before connecting with the back of the net. Just five minutes later, Morgan Cross connected on a through ball to up the Jags up 2-0. 
 
Following halftime, The Jaguars added another goal in the 48th minute as Kailey Littleford put the hosts up 3-0 before recording her second goal of the match in the 54th minute as she connected on a pass from Cross and put South Alabama up 4-0. 
 
Coastal Carolina took three consecutive shots looking to get on the board, but each was saved by the Jags goalkeeper. 
 
 For the second consecutive match and third time this season, Hudson recorded six saves on the day. 
 
South Alabama ended the afternoon with a 14-9 shooting advantage and a 10-4 advantage in shots on frame. Casey O'Connor and Carleigh Frilles finished the day with a team-leading two shots for the Chants, while O'Connor also tallied a shot on goal. CCU found the advantage in saves, 6-4. The Chanticleers also tallied a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Coastal Carolina returns to the CCU Soccer Stadium and hosts Louisiana on Friday, Oct.8. The kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET in Conway.
