CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina Director of Track & Field and Cross Country
Sandy Fowler has announced the 2022 Coastal Carolina track & field schedule, which includes five indoor season meets and seven outdoor season events starting in January and going through the month of May.
The Chanticleers will open up the 2022 indoor season at the Gamecock Opener hosted by South Carolina on Jan. 14-15 at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex in Columbia, S.C.
After returning to Columbia for the USC Carolina Challenge the following weekend, Jan. 21-22, the Chants will head to the upstate for the annual Bob Pollock Meet held at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex on Jan. 28-29.
After a week off, the Chanticleers will head north to compete at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Feb. 11-12 hosted by Liberty in Lynchburg, Va., which will serve as the final tune-up for the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships which will take place on Feb. 21-22 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
The 2022 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for March 11-12 and will also be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Following the indoor season, the Chanticleers will jump straight into the outdoor season with back-to-back home meets with the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on March 11-12 and the
Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on March 18-19.
CCU will then continue its outdoor slate with the Weems Baskin event in Columbia on March 25-26, before taking two weeks off and returning to action on April 15-16 at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational hosted by Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
The Chanticleers will then take part in the one-day USC Open on April 23, before wrapping up the month of April at the UNF Invitational at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. On April 29-30.
The 2022 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on May 12-14 in Lafayette, La., followed by the NCAA First Round East Preliminaries on May 25-28. The track & field season will conclude on June 8-11 with the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
