CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team picked up its first conference win of the season with a 4-1 victory over the Georgia Southern Eagles on Sunday afternoon at the Lynn Stevens Tennis Complex.
 
With the win, the Chants improved to 3-2 on the year and 1-0 in Sun Belt play.
 
Coastal opened the match with a 6-3 win by the team of Bastien Huon and Daiki Tanabe at the No. 2 doubles flight and then picked up the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at the No. 1 flight by the duo of Pyry Hyrkkonen and Diego Giraldo.
 
Huon added to the Chants' lead with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 win over Pascal Wagemaker at the No. 1 singles spot, pushing his season-winning streak to five-straight matches and seven overall dating back to last spring while at Campbell.
 
After the Eagles picked up the win in straight sets on court No. 5 to cut the CCU lead to 2-1, the Chants picked up the next two wins on their way to the 4-1 match victory.
 
Gonzalo Achondo held off GS's Tao Castillo for a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win at the No. 3 position, while Neil O'Connor kept his winning streak alive with a 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 to give the Chants the win.

The Chanticleers (3-2) will return to action next week to host the College of Charleson on Saturday, March 20. First serve is set for 1 p.m. ET.
