CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina fifth-year senior
Bastien Huon made history on Wednesday, March 24, as the first-year Chant was ranked No. 100 overall in the latest Oracle ITA Division I Men's Rankings, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced.
Huon becomes the second Chant to be ranked nationally in singles action, joining former Chant Philippe Tsangaridis who was ranked as the 109th-best Division I singles player in the nation by ITA in 2014. At the time, he was the only player in the Big South to be ranked and he went on to play in the NCAA Championships.
The graduate transfer, who is the only Sun Belt men's tennis student-athlete to be ranked in the top 125, entered the week at 6-0 overall at the No. 1 singles spot on the season.
The Chants (4-3) will be back in action at Elon on Tuesday, March 30, before returning home to host Campbell on Thursday, April 1.
