STATESBORO, Ga. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team fell on the road to Georgia Southern 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in Statesboro, Ga. The loss snaps CCU's winning streak at four-straight matches and drops the Chants to 10-4 (5-2 SBC) while Georgia Southern moves to 11-8 (3-3 SBC) with the win.

Georgia Southern captured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and at No. 2 while CCU picked up a win in the No. 3 position. Coastal's Kristyna Jurkova and Valentina Urelli defeated Elizabeth Goines and Sonja Keranen 7-5 to even the doubles up at 1-1 after Jesse Hollins and Mathilde Tranberg fell 6-3 to Paula Boixader and Nadja Meier in the No. 2 position. Georgia Southern claimed the doubles point as Charlotte Van Diemen and Sophie Wagemaker took down Jessie Mount and Somer Dalla Bona at the top spot at 7-5.

In singles action, the Eagles then posted a straight-set win at No. 5 as Paula Hijos edged out Hollins 6-0, 6-1, while at No. 2 Meijer edged Tranberg 6-1, 6-3 in singles action to take a 3-0 lead.

The Eagles would then clinch the match with a win at the No. 3 position as Georgia Southern's Wagemaker held off CCU's Jurkova by a score of 6-4, 6-3.

Dall-Bona was leading Boixader in the second set at the No. 1 spot after winning the first set 7-6, while Victoire De Samucewicz and Mila Hartig were in a tiebreaker in the first set at 6-6. On court No. 6, Urelli was leading 5-3 in the second set and was a point away from clinching her match before the Eagles eclipsed the four point mark.

The Chanticleers will return home to take on South Alabama on Saturday, April. 3, at 10 a.m. ET.
