CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team got goals from two different players in defeating the College of Charleston 2-1 in a tight battle between old rivals at the CCU Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.

It was the 32nd meeting between the two teams and was the 19th win in the series and the seventh consecutive for the Chants.

It didn't take long for the Chants to break into the scoring column as Claudio Repetto and Connor Pugh teamed up for the first goal of the match in the eighth minute which was the lone score of the first half. It was Repetto's second goal of the season and was Pugh's second assist.

CCU (7-2-1) extended its' lead to 2-0 when Luis Romero was able to pick up a loose ball in front of the Cougar net and blasted in the unassisted tally in the 64th minute. It was Romero's first goal on the year.

The Cougars (0-1-2) never went away and cut the Chants' lead in half with a goal from Jakob Kristensen in the 76th minute. Kane Ritchie was credited with the assist.

Both teams had five total shots in the game with four of CCU's shots on goal while the lone goal for the visitors was their only shot on goal.
