CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team swept the Campbell Fighting Camels 4-0 on Thursday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex. The Chanticleers improved to 5-4 overall while the Camels fall to 0-10 overall.
  
The Chanticleers picked up the doubles point as the duo of Daiki Tanabe and Bastien Huon defeated the team of Gustavs Lukstins and Benjamin Maes 6-3 at the No. 2 position while the No. 1 team of Pyry Hyrkkonen and Diego Giraldo won 6-4 over the Camels' Benjamin Niv and Matthew Beecher. 
  
In singles play, Gonzalo Achondo defeated Mikael Rodriguez 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 position to stake the Chanticleers to a 2-0 lead. Nationally-ranked fifth-year senior Huon, playing in the top spot, put Coastal up 3-0 with the 6-2, 6-3 victory over Niv.  
 
The Chants' No. 3 position clinched the match as Giraldo defeated Maes in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
 
The final matches went unfinished once Coastal Carolina earned the four points for the victory. At the No. 2 position, Hyrkkonen trailed Beecher 6-7, 1-3 at the time the match was decided.  
 
At No. 5, Tanabe was leading in the second set 4-3, after winning the first set 6-4 against Noe Macquart, while Neil O'Connor  was trailing in the second set 1-2 after winning the opening set 7-6 against Lukstins at the No. 6 position.
 
Coastal Carolina will return to action on Friday, April 2, as the Chanticleers will head to UNC Greensboro. The first serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
