Three Chants Earn SBC Women’s Tennis Postseason Honors

Seniors Dalla-Bona and Mount pick up doubles honor
NEW ORLEANS – Coastal Carolina women's tennis seniors Somer Dalla-Bona and Jessie Mount, as well as sophomore Victoire De Samucewicz, picked up Sun Belt All-Conference honors, the league announced on Wednesday.
Dalla-Bona was named to the All-Sun Belt first team in singles and joined her doubles playing partner Mount on the All-Sun Belt second team for doubles. Transfer De Samucewicz earned All-Sun Belt second team for singles honors.
Tabbed the 2019 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player to Watch and named to the 2019 All-Sun Belt first team for singles and 2018 All-Sun Belt first team in doubles, Dalla-Bona adds to her accomplishments with All-Sun Belt first-team honors in singles and All-Sun Belt second-team accolades this year.
Playing at the top spot in singles action all season long, Dalla-Bona was a two-time Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week (Feb. 3 and Feb. 17), the only player to earn the weekly award twice this season. She went 9-4 overall in singles play on the year, including going 2-2 in SBC play at the top spot.
After playing at the No. 2 singles spot in the first two matches on the season, which included a 7-6, 0-6, 6-4 win over No. 93-nationally ranked Emma Shelton of No. 14 South Carolina, she moved into the top flight the rest of the year. She posted wins at the No. 1 spot over Nadja Meier of GS and Maria Zacarias of App State in conference play, while recording victories at the top spot in non-conference play against UNCW, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Presbyterian College, and Louisiana in the SBC Championship quarterfinals. She led or was in front in five of her seven unfinished matches on the season.
The senior duo of Dalla-Bona and Mount earned second-team All-Sun Belt recognition for doubles, as they went 9-6 overall as a doubles pair over the spring season, posting a team-high in wins. The tandem went 9-6 overall at the No. 1 doubles flight on the season, including going 6-2 in Sun Belt Conference play. Their 6-2 conference record as a team at the No. 1 spot was near the top of the conference, while the six SBC wins at the No. 1 spot was second overall in the league. The duo also posted wins at No. 1 over Clemson (6-3) and Charlotte (7-6) outside of conference play.
First-year Chant De Samucewicz picked up second-team honors for her stellar season in which she made an immediate impact on the hardcourt. The sophomore posted an overall singles record of 11-2 and a doubles record of 11-5. Both her 11 wins in singles and doubles play on the year were second on the team.
In SBC play, the sophomore went 5-1 in singles action and 5-2 in doubles play. In singles play, she went 6-1 overall at the No. 3 spot and 5-1 at the No. 4 spot. She posted SBC wins in singles play at No. 3 over Troy and App State, as well as against South Alabama in the SBC Championship semifinals matchup. She also posted wins over Troy, App State, and Georgia State at the No. 4 spot in league play. She closed out her season going 7-1 in singles play, including a win over Charlotte at the No. 3 spot in non-conference play.
