Taylor Shoots an Opening Round 78 at the Noblesville Regional

Taylor and the field battled a steady rain all day long
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Fifth-year senior Zack Taylor posted a first-round 78, +6, on a wet and rainy day on Monday at the 2021 NCAA Noblesville Regional hosted by Ball State at the Sagamore Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.
The two-time Sun Belt All-Conference first team pick started his round at +3 over the first five holes of play, carding bogey, birdie, bogey, bogey, and bogey again before posting four consecutive pars to end the front nine at 39, +3.
On the back nine, the Pittsburgh, Pa. native went par, double bogey, and par to go +5 with six holes to play. Over his final six holes, Taylor recorded back-to-back birdies on holes No. 13 and 14 to go to +3 before closing his round out with two bogeys, a double bogey, and another birdie on No. 18.
The third-year Chant is in a tie for 62nd overall after one round of play.
The Noblesville Regional will continue tomorrow with tee-times starting at 8 a.m. ET.
