JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - On Friday at the 2021 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminaries at Hodges Stadium, freshman Braydon Bennett's first year with the Chanticleer track and field team came to an end as he was unable to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships in the 110-meter hurdles.
The Greenville, S.C. native, was unable to secure that bid for the national championships in 10 days as he finished in eighth-place in the third and final heat with the third-fastest time in school history at 13.91 (1.7). Bennett needed to be in the top three of his heat or the next three fastest times of the three heats.
On Saturday, the Chanticleer women will look to punch their ticket to Eugene, Ore., with quarterfinal runs in five events that include the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays and the 100, 200, and 400 meters.
