CONWAY, S.C. – On Friday afternoon, the Coastal Carolina men's tennis team fell on the road to the Charlotte 49ers, 4-1, in a non-conference battle.
 
The Chants struck first in doubles play, as they notched victories in two out of three matches, staking themselves out to a 1-0 lead.  In the top flight, Diego Giraldo and Federico Garnier claimed a 6-2 win over No. 11 Coy Simon and Stefanos Savva.  On the second court, Bastien Huon and Niccolo Rossi clinched the point with a 7-5 triumph over Thomas Brown and Vasco Prata.
 
In singles action, the Chants fell on courts one, three, five, and six, which allowed the Niners to tally the needed four points to win the match.
 
Coastal Carolina (4-3) will head down Interstate 85 to face the Clemson Tigers on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. ET.
