CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina volleyball head coach Jozsef Forman has announced the signing of graduate transfer Paulina Perez Rosas (Guánica, Puerto Rico/UTEP) who will join the team in the 2022 Fall semester.
 
Perez Rosas comes to Coastal from UTEP, where she played two seasons for the Miners after starting her career at UCF in 2018.
 
"Paulina is an experienced six-rotation outside hitter with strong leadership and an exceptionally high volleyball IQ," stated Forman. "Her passing and variety of offensive skills make her a very special and valuable player for our system. We cannot wait for Paulina to be a Chanticleer and see the continued growth of our program!"

Last season, the outside hitter was second on the team with 304 kills and 336.5 points. She posted a .224 attack percentage, tallied 11 service aces, 294 digs, and 37 total blocks, as the Miners went 24-8 overall and advanced to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) Semifinals.
 
A two-time C-USA All-Academic team selection and two-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, she totaled 505.5 points, 449 kills, and 441 digs over her two years at UTEP, including posting 16 double-doubles.
 
At UCF, she was a member of back-to-back American Athletic Conference championship teams in 2018 and 2019, playing in 14 matches as a true freshman in 2018 and two matches in 2019 before suffering a season-ending injury.
 
Born in Guánica, Puerto Rico, she played her high school career at Colegio San Benito. She was a five-time selection to the Puerto Rican national team and competed in multiple NORCECA Pan American Championships. She guided Puerto Rico to a fourth-place finish at the NORCECA U20 Pan American Cup in 2017 where she finished 25th in scoring and was the leading scorer for Puerto Rico at the NORCECA U18 Pan American Cup in 2016.
