Troy's Kelly Horne was hit by a pitch to start the afternoon, which was followed by a Libby Baker double down the left-field line that sent Horne home to put the Trojans up 1-0. Taylor McKinney singled to third base and advanced Baker but Troy stranded both runners in the top of the first.

Makiya Thomas drew Coastal's first walk of the afternoon followed by Abbey Montoya who was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. Iyanla De Jesus singled to right-center-field to advance all runners one base. Keirstin Roose sent a sacrifice fly into left field sent home Thomas to tie the contest at 1-all.

In the bottom of the second inning, Jay Wrightsman earned another walk for the Chants before advancing to second on a Madison Hudson strikeout. An illegal pitch advanced all runners before Riley Zana lined out to center-field.

After a leadoff single by Baker for the Trojans, she advanced on a passed ball. Anslee Finch tripled down the right-field line to send home Baker, to make the score 2-1. McKinney doubled to center field to add another Trojan run as Finch crossed home to make the score, 3-1.

In the circle, Nicolette Picone (4-3) threw the first complete game of her Coastal career seeing 7.0 innings of work. The Bethpage, N.Y. native allowed just three runs on eight hits and one walk. Notably, Picone recorded a career-high six strikeouts in the circle.

Thomas and De Jesus each finished the afternoon going 1-for-2 at the plate, with Thomas recording one run. Roose recorded the Chanticleers' lone RBI of game one.

 Game 2 – Coastal Carolina 4, Troy 3

The Chanticleers used two big hits from Payton Ebersole and Maddy Jennings late in the game to propel CCU past Troy in game two, while Kaitlin Beasley-Polko (5-4) recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts in 6.0 inning of work and allowed just two hits.

Troy scored three runs between the first and second innings, to go up 3-0 over the hosts. A solo home run from Horne put the Trojans up 1-0 in the top of the first. Kennedi Gaton drew a walk in the top of the second before a wild pitch advanced her to second. A Chanticleer error allowed Katelynn de Leon to reach base, advancing Gaton. Another walk loaded the bases for Troy followed by a Jade Sinness single that drove in the Trojans' final two runs of the day.

Thomas turned the doubled play to end the top of the second for the Chanticleers, as Baker lined out to the centerfielder before Logan Calhoun was thrown out at third base.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Wrightsman started the Chants' momentum when the freshman earned a base on balls which set up Ebersole's single deep into center field which broke up the Trojans no-hitter and sent Wrightsman home, to make the score 3-1.

Roose sent a single up the middle to start the bottom of the sixth inning. Jennings followed as the freshman murdered a Trojan offering over the palm trees in left field to tie the game at 3-3. Hudson reached base on a single to left field. Pinch-runner Da'Vidria Robinson stole second, putting herself in scoring position. Thomas singled to deep right field which drove home Robinson and give Coastal a 4-3 lead.
