ATLANTA, Ga. – Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse goalie
Claire Martell was tabbed the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The conference weekly award is the second of the season for Martell, who was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this year on March 1.
The Chanticleers went 2-0 last week, snapping a three-game skid with home wins over both William & Mary (22-10) and Winthrop (19-7).
Martell picked her first third and fourth wins of the season in-between the pipes for the Chanticleers, recording 12 saves in 60 minutes of play versus the Tribe and then registering six saves, while allowing just two goals, against the Eagles.
The Chanticleers (4-4) will return to the road for their next contest. CCU will play at Vanderbilt on March 27, before returning home to take on the Jacksonville Dolphins at home on April 1.
