CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will head back to Florida for the third time this season, as the Chanticleers will take part in the Stetson Beach Bash hosted by Stetson University on March 26-27.
The Stetson Beach Bash tournament field includes four nationally-ranked teams in No. 10 in Florida Atlantic (FAU), No. 13 Georgia State, No. 18 Stetson, and No. 19 Florida International (FIU).
Coastal enters the weekend at 15-4 overall on the season and on a seven-match winning streak after going perfect last weekend at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
The Chants are led by the No. 3 pair of
Ellie Hanford and
Natalie Honzovicova who lead the team in overall wins with 18 and enter the weekend on a 10-match winning streak.
The host team Stetson enters the weekend at No. 18 nationally and 8-8 overall on the year after hosting the Stetson Challenge last weekend where the Hatters went 3-1 overall.
FIU enters the weekend at No. 19 and 11-1 overall after sweeping Webber International in back-to-back 5-0 wins.
Georgia State is 10-7 overall where the Panthers took part in the March to May Tournament, going 2-3 for the event with wins over Tulane (3-2) and UAB (3-0).
FAU enters play as the highest-ranked team among the group at No. 10 overall and also participated in the March to May Tournament where the Owls also went 2-3 overall and closed the weekend with an upset over then-No. 5 LSU.
