CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will head back to Columbia, S.C., and the University of South Carolina to compete in the Palmetto Invitational this Friday and Saturday, April 15-16.
 
Coastal enters play this week at 17-10 overall on the season, having gone 2-2 last weekend while hosting the Carolina Challenge in Conway, S.C. The Chanticleers posted wins over UNCW and Mercer on their home sand.
 
The tournament field this weekend includes not one but two nationally-ranked top-20 teams in No. 20 FGCU, who is 20-7 overall after going 2-2 in a tournament hosted by FAU last weekend, and host No. 18 South Carolina who is 17-8 overall after going a perfect 4-0 last weekend at CCU's Carolina Challenge.
 
Coastal's other match this weekend will come against a familiar foe in the Cougars of College of Charleston who enter the weekend at 18-8 overall. Like, Coastal, the Cougars went 2-2 last weekend at the Carolina Challenge.
