PEACHTREE CITY, GA – On Friday, the Coastal Carolina women's tennis team clashed with the ULM Warhawks in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, where the Chants shut out the Warhawks 4-0 to advance to the semifinals.
 
In doubles play, the Chants claimed a win in two of the three matches. The All-Sun Belt team of Victoire De Samucewicz and Jesse Hollins pulled away for a 6-1 victory on court one.  The doubles point was decided on court two, where Anna Babayan and Megan Hopton edged Daniela Hernandez and Hala Badwy by a 6-4 margin, giving CCU a 1-0 lead.
 
During singles action, Hollins picked up a 6-0, 6-4 win over Madalina Grigoriu on court six, while Hopton defeated Jimena Paula in straight sets on court five, 6-1, 6-4, extending the Chants' lead to 3-0 at that juncture of the contest.
 
De Samucewicz secured the overall match victory for CCU with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph against ULM's Badwy in the top flight.
 
Next up for Coastal Carolina (13-8) is a semifinal matchup with top seed South Alabama on Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. ET.
