Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Award

Coastal Carolina had five student-athletes garner scholar-athlete recognition
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team was tabbed a 2022 Division I Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team, it was announced on Monday. In addition, the women's team had five student-athletes recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes in Anna Babayan, Paola Landin Lopez, Valentina Urelli, Mathilde Tranberg, and Isabella Weatherhead.
The ITA All-Academic Team Award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
The team honor marks the 24th consecutive year that the women have received ITA All-Academic Team recognition.
