CONWAY, S.C. – Midway through perhaps the toughest stretch of fall preseason camp, in which the Chanticleers are going six days straight from Monday through Saturday, the Coastal Carolina football team took part in practice No. 13 on the Fowler Turf Field on Thursday morning.
The morning practice again saw the Chants sport helmets, shoulder pads, and shorts, as the team was on the field for a total of 24 periods.
Following the opening walk-thru and stretch team periods, the Chants went directly into back-to-back team periods that focused on two-minute drills.
Sandwiched in-between two breaks, the Chanticleers concentrated on special teams before transitioning to individual position skills work.
The practice concluded with three periods of group work, again 7-on-7 and 1-on-1 offense versus defense breakdowns, followed by five periods of team sessions capped off with a red zone competition pitting offense versus the defense.
Coastal will kick off the 2022 football season at home on Saturday, Sept. 3, versus Army at 7 p.m. ET.
