PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University's
Trey Crenshaw leads a trio of Chanticleers with a seven-under 65 (34-31) during the first round at the Golfweek Fall Challenge held at the True Blue Golf Club.
The sophomore's career-best round has him tied for first place in the 54-hole event, while teammates Ales van Wyk is tied for 14th after shooting a two-under 70 (36-34) and
Connor Bennink is tied for 37th with a one-over 73 (39-34).
The Chants are not competing for the team championship which sees Presbyterian College lead the event with a 10-under 278. Delaware is second after shooting a seven-under 281. Wright State and Jacksonville State are tied for third after scoring a five-under 283. Rounding out the top five is Southern Indiana following their four-under 284.
Samford (-3, 285) leads off the second five followed by Gardner-Webb (-1, 287), Tennessee Tech (+1, 289), Temple (+3, 291), and Stephen F. Austin (+3, 291) tied for ninth.
Rounding out the field are Eastern Kentucky (+4. 292), Queens (+9, 297), and Austin Peay (+12, 300).
