CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will return to the road and kick-off a two-game road series on Thursday, Sept. 8 as the Chanticleers travel to Charlotte, N.C. to face the Charlotte 49ers in a non-conference matchup. 
COASTAL VS. CHARLOTTE
Thursday will mark just the third meeting between the Chanticleers and 49ers. The series is tied at 1-1-0, with Charlotte taking the last meeting by a 4-1 margin on Sept. 23, 2015 in the Queen City.
LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers battled former Big South foe Campbell but fell to the Camels 2-1 at the CCU Soccer Stadium last Sunday. Campbell needed just 10 minutes following the halftime break to tally its first goal and go up 1-0 before 
Megan Brouse tacked on her teaming-leading fourth goal of the season to level the match at 1-1 in the 69th minute. 
 
The visiting Camels were next to score in the 74th minute as Campbell's Jessica Donald played a ball from Mary Tierney and fired what proved to be the game-winner to give the Camels a 2-1 advantage. 
 
CHANT TALK
	- Brouse leads Coastal Carolina with four goals and one assist (nine points), while Julia Ziegenfuss and Rose Behrmann have each tallied a goal. Taylor Tolson leads the Chants with two helpers, while Brouse, Ziegenfuss, and Tori Carnevale have also added an assist this season. 
	  
	- In goal, Katelyn Kellogg has started all five matches in net for Coastal this season, logging 450:00 minutes and recording 21 saves (.636 save percentage).
 
SCOUTING THE NINERS
	- Charlotte's lone two goals this season have both come from Tash Hudson with Kelly Hastings and Ella Joaquin each recording an assist for the Niners. 
	  
	- After finishing the 2021 season 7-5-4 overall and 3-2-3 in Conference USA play. Charlotte was picked to finish eighth in the C-USA Soccer Preseason Poll. 
	  
	- Goalkeeper Emily Keck has started all five matches for Charlotte seeing 405:00 minutes of action and has racked up 24 saves between the posts. She made nine saves in the season-opener at UNCG - the second-most of any Niner keeper in their first match donning the Green and White.
