CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team concluded its homestand today at the Stevens Tennis Complex with day two of the CCU Battle at the Beach.
Yesterday, CCU went a combined 11-6 in both singles and doubles play against Charlotte, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, and Wofford.
The Lady Chants opened today with a doubles match against College of Charleston. CCU took three of four from the Cougars, with the pairs of Anna Babayan and Jesse Hollins, Nicole Abel and Brooke Rogers, and Katya Hersh and Cécile Morin coming away with victories for Coastal.
Next, Coastal was matched up against Charleston Southern and Charlotte, once again in doubles play. The Chanticleers took two of four in the final round, as Babayan, Hollins, Mitrache, and Foldeak each added to their win totals.
In the final round of the tournament, CCU was pitted against Wofford in their first singles outing of day two. The Lady Chants took four of six from the Terriers, with three coming in straight sets. Abel, Hollins, Hersh, and Kata Foldeak continued their hot streaks with another singles win.
After concluding a homestand consisting of the Lynn Stevens Invitational and the Battle at the Beach, the Lady Chants are back in action next week at the ITA Carolina Regionals in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Oct. 19-23.
