CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina track and field head coach
Sandy Fowler has announced the spring schedule for the upcoming 2024 indoor and outdoor seasons.
Thus far, the Chants have competed in six cross country meets this fall, with the women's team claiming two top-place finishes and the men claiming one. Following the NCAA Southeast Regionals, Coastal will wrap up their 2023 schedule at the NCAA Championships in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday, Nov. 18.
The indoor track season opener comes less than two weeks following the conclusion of the cross country season, with the Chants traveling to Lynchburg, Va. for the Liberty Kickoff on Nov. 29.
After the winter break, Coastal will head to Columbia, S.C. for back-to-back competitions, both hosted by South Carolina, starting with the Gamecock Opener on Jan. 13 and finishing with the Carolina Challenge on Jan. 19-20.
Prior to the start of postseason play, CCU will travel to Clemson, S.C. for the Bob Pollock Invitational on Jan. 26-27, followed by a return to Lynchburg, Va. for the Darius Dixon Invitational on Feb. 9-10.
Postseason play commences with the Sun Belt Championships in Birmingham, Ala. on Feb. 19-20, and concludes with the NCAA Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. on Mar. 8-9.
The Chants will transition to the outdoor track season on the same day the indoor season ends, starting with the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on Mar. 8-9 at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Myrtle Beach will also play host to the
Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Mar. 14-16.
CCU will travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State, on Mar. 21-23.
Coastal then visits a pair of SEC opponents in South Carolina and Florida for the Weems Baskin Invitational in Columbia, S.C. on Mar. 22-23, the Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. on Apr. 12-13 and the USC Open in Columbia on Apr. 20.
The Chants will conclude the 2024 outdoor season with the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Fla. on Apr. 26-27, hosted by North Florida.
Outdoor postseason meets will begin with the Sun Belt Championships on May. 9-11, and include the NCAA East Preliminary on May. 22-25 in Lexington, Ky. and the NCAA Championships on Jun. 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
