CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University University football student-athletes Clinton Anokwuru, Payton Bunch, Kyre Duplessis, Dre Pinckney, Mack West, and Reese White were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Football Teams, which was announced this week.
Anokwuru, a communication major, has 23 tackles on the season The redshirt junior bandit from Richmond, Texas, has also contributed 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
A graduate with a bachelor's degree who's pursuing his MBA, Bunch has served as the Chants long snapper in 11 games this season. The Pendleton, S.C., native also recorded a tackle against Marshall.
Duplessis, a redshirt junior from Woodbridge, Va., has played in all 12 games this season, catching 14 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown. The marine science major has also attempted one rush, thrown two passes, and tallied one tackle.
Pinckney, a redshirt sophomore marketing major, has 19 tackles in 11 games this season. The Boiling Springs, S.C., native recorded his first career interception against Marshall.
A redshirt sophomore from Hamlet, N.C., West has played in all 12 games on the season for the Chants as a holder. The management major has helped Coastal Carolina's kickers convert 16 field goals this year, including nine of their last 12 attempts.
White, who has a bachelor's degree in recreation and sport management and is working on his master's in instructional technology, has rushed 68 times for 212 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Sandy Springs, Ga., native also has eight catches for 43 yards and three kickoff returns for 52 yards.
