Women’s basketball to open Sun Belt action on the road
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will travel to Jonesboro, Ark., to begin Sun Belt Conference play against the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday, Dec. 30. The game will be the conference opener for both teams with the tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.

The Chants fell 105-66 to the Michigan State Spartans in the championship game of the Cherokee Invitational. Arin Freeman, Zaria Hurston, and Deaja Richardson led Coastal with 13, 12, and 10 points, respectively. Alancia Ramsey and Riley Stack were the top rebounders for Coastal having grabbed eight and seven boards each.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND ARKANSAS STATE
Coastal Carolina and the Red Wolves will be meeting for the 11th time dating back to January 2017, the Chanticleers first season in the Sun Belt Conference. The all-time series is even at 5-5 with A-State picking up a 69-65-road win in Conway, S.C., in the last meeting.
