ABOUT THE CHANTS
• Coastal Carolina went 2-1 on Opening Weekend with wins over Fairfield (14-7) and Middle Tennessee (11-3) at the Baseball at the Beach presented by VisitMyrtleBeach.com.
• The Chanticleers had 14 new players take the field over the first three games of the season, including seven true freshmen.
• The new-look pitching staff got off to a great start to the season, as the CCU arms combined to strike out 39 hitters compared to just seven walks over Opening Weekend.
• Freshmen Caden Bodine and Blake Barthol are both off to great starts to their first collegiate seasons, as both homered in the season-opening win over Fairfield (Feb. 17) and are hitting over .400 so far this season.

ABOUT THE WOLFPACK
• NC State enters the midweek contest at 3-0 on the season following a series sweep over Wagner at home on Opening Weekend.
• The Wolfpack outscored Wagner 26-3 in the three-game stretch, including a 9-0 win in the series finale.
• NC State did it with pitching, as the Pack walked just six batters in their first three games of the season and allowed just three earned runs.
• However, the offense was not too shabby on Opening Weekend either, as the Pack hit .340 as a team and have six players hitting over .300 thus far this season.

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH NC STATE
• NC State leads the all-time series over CCU at 19-14.
• The two teams were scheduled to play in both 2021 and 2022; however, both games were canceled for various reasons.
• Since upending the Pack at the NCAA Raleigh Regional on their way to the 2016 College World Series Championship, the Chants have gone just 1-2 in the three meetings with the win a 7-6 victory over then-No. 2 NC State in 2019.

LEGENDARY COACHES
• Wednesday night's contest features two of the winningest coaches in NCAA Division I baseball history.
• Coastal head coach Gary Gilmore is ranked 22nd all-time in NCAA wins with 1,295 career wins and is fourth on the active coaches list.
• NC State's Elliott Avent is fifth on the active coaches list and 28th all-time with 1,189 career wins as a head coach.

MIDWEEK MATCHUPS
• Coastal Carolina will kick off its midweek schedule this season with Wednesday night's contest versus NC State at Springs Brooks Stadium.
• The Chanticleers have 14 midweek contests scheduled this season with regional teams across South Carolina and North Carolina.
• Last season, CCU went 6-4 overall in midweek regular season games, including going 4-0 at home.

VERSUS THE ACC
• CCU's matchup with NC State will mark the first of four Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents that the Chanticleers will take on this season.
• The Chants are also scheduled to play two games versus Clemson (April 4 & May 10), Wake Forest (March 7 & April 25), and North Carolina (March 28 & May 16).
