ABOUT THE CHANTS
• Coastal Carolina is 2-2 on the season heading into the series with the Creighton Bluejays.
• The Chanticleers have had 17 new players take the field over the first four games of the season, including eight true freshmen.
• The new-look pitching staff has gotten off to a great start to the season, as the CCU arms have combined to strike out 47 hitters compared to just 11 walks over the four games.
• Offensively, the Chants have four players that have started all four games this season and are hitting over .300 at the plate in Payton Eeles (.500), Caden Bodine (.389), Graham Brown (.353), and Blake Barthol (.333).
• Overall, the Chants have 12 different players who have scored at least one run on the season.

ABOUT THE BLUEJAYS
• Creighton enters the weekend at 2-1 overall, having won the three-game series on Opening Weekend (Feb. 17-19) at McNeese State.
• The Bluejays were picked to finish second overall in the BIG EAST Conference in the 2023 BIG EAST Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll.
• Creighton has been led by its pitching thus far this season, as the Bluejays' pitching staff has posted a 1.73 ERA and allowed just five earned runs over the first three games.
• The pitching staff has only walked six hitters compared to 22 strikeouts entering play this weekend at Coastal Carolina.
• The Bluejays closed the 2022 season with 31 victories (31-18) and saw their season come to an end versus Xavier in the 2022 BIG EAST Championship.

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH CREIGHTON
• Coastal leads the all-time series with the Bluejays at 2-0.
• The two teams met back in 2009 at the Caravelle Resort Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina and again later in the week for a midweek contest.
• Both games were decided by just one run, as CCU held off Creighton for an 8-7 win on March 7, 2009, and then was victorious 1-0 three days later in a pitcher's duel.

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME
• Since Coastal and Creighton last played each other, both teams have changed leagues - CCU moving from the Big South Conference to the Sun Belt Conference and Creighton moving from the Missouri Valley Conference to the BIG EAST Conference.
• However, since the last meeting in 2009, both the Chanticleers and Bluejays have the same head coach leading their respective programs in Gary Gilmore (Coastal) and Ed Servais (Creighton).

TWO BY TWO
• Coastal Carolina enters the three-game series with the Creighton Bluejays this weekend, having dropped each of its last two games - versus VCU (Feb. 19) and No. 21 nationally-ranked NC State (Feb. 22).
• Prior to the two-game skid, the Chanticleers won their first two games of the season over Fairfield (Feb. 17) and Middle Tennessee (Feb. 18).

HOME. SWEET. HOME.
• This season, Coastal is scheduled to play 34 home games versus teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten, Big East, Conference USA, Atlantic 10, and the new look Sun Belt Conference.
• In fact, 15 of the Chants' first 16 games will come at home at "The Palace" to start the season.
• Since 2000, the Chants have recorded 20 wins or more at home in all but four years, one of which was the shortened 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Since Coastal joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2017, the Chants have posted a record of 123-59-2 (67.4 percent) at home at Springs Brooks Stadium.
