NEW ORLEANS – Coastal Carolina women's tennis student-athlete
Anna Babayan has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her play last week, March 13-19.
Babayan and the Chants have continued to roll up the wins as of late, as last week the Florida native went 2-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles play, extending her winning streak at the No. 1 doubles spot alongside
Megan Hopton to 10 in a row.
Her and Hopton's win in doubles play at Georgia State on Saturday, March 18, clinched the doubles point, while her victory at the No. 2 singles spot put her at 2-0 in conference play.
Over the Chants' 10-match winning streak, Babayan has gone 7-2 in singles action with one unfinished match and 10-0 in doubles play. She is 8-4 overall in singles play on the season and 12-2 alongside Hopton in doubles action.
Hopton was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week last week on March 15.
The Chanticleers (10-4, 2-0 SBC) will return home to host not one but two conference foes this weekend in Louisiana (March 25) and Texas State (March 26). Both matches are scheduled for a 10 a.m. ET start.
