CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will return to action at UNCW in Wilmington, N.C., on Saturday, April 1. The Sandy Chants will compete against the Seahawks and Jacksonville in a tri-match on April Fool's Day.
Coastal Carolina enters the week at 15-8 overall on the season after finishing 2-2 at the Stetson Beach Invitational versus No. 17 Stetson, No. 14 FAU, North Alabama, and FGCU and the Chants saw their seven-match winning streak come to an end.
Coastal's duo of
Sarlota Svobodova and
Maddie Lichty lead the way at 16-4 on the season at the No. 3 flight, having won 11-straight matches.
The Seahawks are 9-6 on the season and in their last outing saw a four-match winning streak snapped, as they fell 4-1 to the College of Charleston.
After getting swept by North Florida, Jacksonville is riding a three-match losing streak to run its record to 8-13 on the year.
COASTAL & UNCW HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the 15th time as the Sandy Chants trail the all-time series 8-6. The Chanticleers have won the last five meetings, including 3-2 victory earlier this year on March 22 in Conway. However, Coastal Carolina is winless at UNCW.
COASTAL & JACKSONVILLE HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the 13th time as the Sandy Chants lead the all-time series 8-4. The Chanticleers have won the last eight matches, including a 4-1 win at the DUUUVAL Duals earlier this season.
