HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team continued its road trip on Saturday, falling to the James Madison Dukes 4-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.
 
The loss dropped the Chanticleers to 10-9 overall and 1-4 in the Sun Belt, while with the win, the Dukes improved to 11-8 overall and 3-4 in the league.
 
Coastal opened the match with a 6-3 win on the No. 2 doubles court, as Carlos Berna Ruiz and Maj Tomac defeated JMU's Julian Lozano and Edson Sanchez.
 
However, the next two doubles bouts went in favor of the home-standing Dukes, as Steve Mundt and Lucas Wayenburg fell 6-3 to Holden Koons and Francisco Sinopoli on court No. 1 before JMU picked up the doubles point with a 7-6 (8-6) win by Youssef Sadek and Canon Secord over CCU's Ryuya Ata and Guilherme Toresan on court No. 3.
 
In singles play, the Chants were in battles on courts No. 2 and 5, as Tomac was in the third set with Lozano (1-6, 7-5, 1-0) on court No. 2 and Toresan led Sanchez (6-2, 5-4) on court No. 5. However, the Dukes scored three straight-set wins across the other four contests to run away with the 4-0 match win.
 
JMU's Koon defeated Berna Ruiz 6-1, 6-3 on court No. 1 to put the Dukes up 2-0 in the match.
 
The Dukes' Sadek followed with a 6-4, 6-3 straight-set win over Wayenburg on court No. 3 before Aathreya Mahest defeated Neil O'Connor 7-5, 6-0 on court No. 6 to seal the match win.
 
The Chanticleers will stay in Virginia for a Sun Belt Conference match at No. 68 Old Dominion tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET.
