ABOUT THE CHANTS
• Coastal Carolina is 28-14 overall and 15-6 in Sun Belt Conference play this year.
• Coastal sits alone atop the Sun Belt Conference regular-season standings at 15-6, one game in front of second place Southern Miss (14-7).

• The Charlotte 49ers enter the week at 22-12 overall and 12-8 in Conference USA play on the season.
• The 49ers are limping into Conway, S.C., as they have lost each of their last four games and six of their last 10 games.
• Charlotte has struggled on the road this year, as they are just 7-11 away from the Queen City.
• The 49ers' offense has struggled this season, as they are hitting just .253 overall on the season, which ranks 254th nationally.
• However, the 49ers have hit a total of 68 home runs this year, which ranks second in C-USA and 37th nationally.

• Coastal has played 10 games against five nationally-ranked top-25 teams so far this season in No. 21 NC State (Feb. 22), No. 2/5 Wake Forest (March 7), No. 19 Campbell (March 14), No. 13 North Carolina (March 28), again versus No. 14 Campbell (April 10 & 11), versus No. 23/24 Southern Miss (April 23-24), and again at No. 2 Wake Forest (April 25).
• The Chanticleers are 6-4 versus top 25 ranked teams this season.
• Coastal suffered a 16-5 midweek home loss to then-No. 21 NC State on Feb. 22 at Springs Brooks Stadium, but since then has won each of its last three games versus ranked foes.

• The Chanticleers scored eight runs in the top of the eighth inning to record a 12-7 come-from-behind win on the road at No. 13 North Carolina in midweek action on March 28.
• CCU split back-to-back midweek road games at No. 14 Campbell (April 10 & 11), falling 9-4 on Monday before taking the season series with a 5-3 win on Tuesday.
• Coastal took two-of-three games at home versus No. 23/24 Southern Miss (April 21-23) in Sun Belt Conference play, outscoring the Golden Eagles 42-29 in the three games.
• Most recently, the Chanticleers were defeated by No. 2 Wake Forest (April 25) 11-1 in seven innings in Winston-Salem, N.C., in midweek non-conference action.

• The Chanticleers rank in the top 10 in RPI in games played through April 30, which is tops in the Sun Belt.

• CCU suffered a loss to NC State (Feb. 22), but since defeated Davidson (March 3-5) in three games, Wake Forest (March 7), Campbell (March 14), North Carolina (March 28), and Campbell (April 11) again.
OUTSIDE OF THE BELT
• This season, the Chanticleers are 13-8 overall in non-conference play.
• The Chants have two midweek wins over ranked foes Campbell (March 14 and April 11), and one each over ranked opponents Wake Forest (March 7) and North Carolina (March 28), as well as a three-game series sweep over Davidson (March 3-5) and a series win over Creighton (Feb. 24-26).
• CCU and Illinois (March 10 & 11) also split a series 1-1, which saw the rubber match washed out.
MIDWEEK MEETINGS
• This season, the Chants are 5-5 this season in midweek action and 3-1 in those games played at home.
• The Chants have however defeated multiple ranked teams No. 2/5 Wake Forest (March 7), No. 19 Campbell (March 14), at No. 13 North Carolina (March 28), and at No. 14 Campbell (April 11) in midweek play.
HOME. SWEET. HOME.
• This season, Coastal is scheduled to play 34 home games versus teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten, Big East, Conference USA, Atlantic 10, and the new look Sun Belt Conference.
• In fact, 14 of the Chants' first 15 games came at home at "The Palace" to start the season.
• Since 2000, the Chants have recorded 20 wins or more at home in all but four years, one of which was the shortened 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• This season, the Chants are 17-7 overall at home.
• Since Coastal joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2017, the Chants have posted a record of 138-64-2 (68.1 percent) at home at Springs Brooks Stadium.
EXTRA-INNING FUN
• With the Chanticleers' 3-2 win in 11 innings last Sunday at Louisiana (April 30), Coastal improved to a perfect 3-0 on the season in extra-inning games.
• Oddly enough, all three extra-inning wins for the Chanticleers this year have come in Sunday series finale games in Sun Belt Conference play - at Georgia State (April 2), Old Dominion (April 16), and Louisiana.
• Coastal has outscored its opponents 5-0 in extra innings this season.
